Be a part of our team!

An opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Monitoring Team in Adult Social Services as a Quality Monitoring Officer.

About the role

You will be working as part of a small, friendly, supportive team working with adult care services (including care homes and home care services) that are contracted to look after vulnerable adults in North Somerset. The role involves overseeing and supporting the quality, performance and compliance of service providers. You will have the opportunity to shape and develop monitoring processes and to work closely with care providers and other professionals, such as the Safeguarding Adults Team, to promote change and embed quality. This is an exciting opportunity to have a real impact on how services are delivered.

This is a permanent role, based in the Town Hall, Weston-super-Mare and involves some remote working from home.

  • You will have your own caseload and will be leading on-site and remote assessments of care services and should have excellent communication, relationship building, analytical and observation skills.
  • Experience or knowledge in social care or a quality related work area would be beneficial to this role but is not essential.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

About you

You will be required to write reports and should be effective and confident in your communication skills.

You will require excellent IT skills; including using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; and will also be expected to use other bespoke systems.

You will work independently and as part of a team. You will be organised, enthusiastic and with the ability to problem solve and prioritise work.  You will be expected to travel to locations within the North Somerset and local areas during the week.

If you have a passion for Social Care and improving quality in care services, then we want to hear from you!
