Property Repairs Team Leader

The Property Repairs Service is at a pivotal moment in its development and transformation to match the challenges of a modern repairs service in becoming more commercially focused, whilst improving repairs services to customers and are seeking to recruit a Property Repairs Team Leader to help achieve that transformation.

The purpose of the job is to undertake the day-to-day operational management of repairs & voids service delivery, whilst working in tandem with the other Team Leader to facilitate a customer first culture throughout the whole service. The post holder will assist the Property Repairs Manager with developing and improving the Council’s repairs service, delivering a service that meets customer’s needs and is productive and good value for money.
This role will require the post holder to effectively manage and lead the repairs and maintenance staff who are both office and field based. Responding to enquiries from customers, suppliers, and external sub-contractors, to maintain service continuity and supply chain management.

The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people. Have an excellent grasp of a repairs service and an understanding of how to manage a team of operatives. A background in repairs, and knowledge of the housing or construction sectors would be a distinct advantage.

You will have a strong work ethic, be reliable and able to deliver consistently good customer focussed outcomes.  You should be able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy demonstrating excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads when faced with conflicting demands. 

You will also be proficient in using standard MS Office systems at an advanced level. Experience of other IT systems such as Technology Forge and Civica CX would be an advantage.
