About the role
The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated School Secretary to work as part of a small team in our admin office. The role involves maintaining records of pupil attendance, dealing with enquiries by telephone, email and visitors in person, helping to prepare the weekly newsletter, communicating with parents using Parentmail and some management of the Parentpay system including some simple accounting.
This role is for three days per week which are Monday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm with half an hour for lunch, term time only. There may also be scope in the future to increase the number of working hours in the future.
The successful candidate will:
- Have some experience of working in administration. School administration would be particularly helpful
- Have experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of SIMs, Parentpay and Parentmail would also be helpful
- Be flexible and adaptable to help meet the changing needs of the school each day
- Be keen to embrace the "Battle and Langton" ethos, where everyone is a learner
- Be a great team player and a positive role model for all members of the school community
