About the role
The Rampion Federation require a casual flexible, hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our “in house” catering team at Grovelands Community Primary School. This post is for occasional work and to cover staff absences to support the team in providing a first class catering offering to our pupils. We normally operate a lunch service, with normal service being very fast paced, accommodating a large number of pupils in a short space of time.
Duties Will Include
• Basic food preparation and service
• Using an industrial dishwasher
• Catering for dietary requirements
• Completing temperature records
• Rotating stock
Sweeping and Mopping
• Following health and safety records
• Serving pupils and staff
• Cleaning counters and equipment
• Setting tables and chairs up, helping putting away deliveries
• General washing up, cleaning and emptying bins
Our Kitchen Assistants must be friendly and polite individuals who can guarantee service with a smile! When working in a busy kitchen, the Kitchen Assistant must possess a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of food hygiene, a flexible approach to working together, with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of an efficient team. Previous catering experience and food hygiene certificate an advantage. Uniform and training will be provided.

Salary: Single Status Grade 2 (As the position is on a relief basis the above salary will be paid on a claims basis)

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
