These are exciting time on the Isle of Wight within Adult Social Care, the whole service having supported a redesign that enhances strength-based practice, working with the community and our third sector partners.

We are seeking to recruit be an enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate individual, to join the Safeguarding Team as a Social Worker.

 
As a qualified Social Worker, you will hold relevant qualification, skills and experience to manage a variety and complex caseload and balance the needs of the person and service. Newly Qualified Social workers and individuals who are actively in the process of completing social work qualification will also be considered. You will have good communication and relationship building skills and fully recognise the importance of ensuring that the voice of those we are supporting is heard.  You will share our ambitions, passion, and attitude to enable individuals to be protected and free from harm and abuse and live a fulfilling live where their wellbeing is promoted.


The role sits within our designated Adult Safeguarding team within the Local Authority Adult Social Care department. You will work as part of a team to triage and assess safeguarding concerns received to the Locality Authority and where required undertake relevant enquires in accordance with the S.42 threshold and safeguarding duties under the Care Act 2014. To fulfil this duty you will work alongside, individuals, their families and/or advocates and partner agencies to coordinate, gather and assess information relevant to the concerns. This will involve undertaking visits, attending safeguarding meetings, formulating assessments, completion of safety plans, and where require complete detailed reports for individuals and relevant organisations such as the Court of Protection. You will hold professional curiosity and be able to formulate evidence informed decisions and demonstrate this through the work you complete.

The successful candidate will have a social work qualification and be SWE registered. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Data Protection Act and evidence of ability to work to practice guidance/procedure. You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Stand-by Duty Rota as and when requested by management. Standby and call out duties are paid in accordance with the IWC Terms and Conditions 2012 document.
