What we are looking for…

Do you enjoy consulting and engaging with people? Do you have an interest in primary and secondary research? Are you comfortable analysing complex data sets to find patterns and trends? If so, we want to hear from you!

We’re recruiting for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Business Insight, Policy and Partnerships service in North Somerset Council. The role has a focus on consultation and research and is an opportunity to help shape how we engage with and consult our residents, our stakeholders, and our staff.

As well as developing and implementing our Consultation and Research Strategy, you will be responsible for ensuring our consultation and research tools are fit for purpose, the management and development of our Citizens’ Panel, and our corporate consultation and engagement activity including our staff surveys. You will also be a key in advising and guiding our services on best practice and research methodologies.

We’re looking for someone who is well-organised, has good attention to detail, and can juggle competing workloads. Ideally, you will have experience working within a research and data environment and have strong skills in market and social research. You will also need to be proficient in Excel and have some knowledge of survey software such as SNAP. A social research qualification such as an MRS diploma is desirable.

What we can offer…

This role is flexible meaning you aren’t required to be in the office five days a week. We’re interested in the work you do, not where you do it, and welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what working for North Somerset Council looks like for you.

As well as flexibility in how we work we also offer:

  • A friendly, supportive working environment.
  • Flexi-time scheme meaning starting and finishing your day around not just the business need but your home life commitments.
  • Up to 32 days annual leave depending on length of service and an additional annual leave purchase scheme.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Electric Vehicle and Cycle to Work Salary sacrifice schemes.
  • Ongoing training and continued professional development.
