Democratic Services Support Officer
This post offers an opportunity to work in a support role at the hub of the Council’s decision-making and overview and scrutiny processes. The Democratic Services team has responsibility for the efficient and effective conduct of meetings of the Council, the Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees and a range of other formal and diverse meetings including school admission appeals.
We are seeking to recruit an individual to join the Democratic Service Team with relevant knowledge and experience of providing high quality administrative services and web publishing and system content management, an eye for detail and good inter-personal and communication skills. They will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to think about alternative ways of doing things and being open to new work practices and responsive to change.
The range of responsibilities includes providing administrative support to the Democratic Services team and Councillors and the administration of the Members’ Allowances Scheme. The post holder will also deal with members of the public, for example, via the administration of the Council’s Petition Scheme.
