Lincolnshire County Council have an amazing opportunity to join our Adult Skills and Family Learning Service as a Senior Project Officer.

About the role

The role is based within the Adult Skills and Family Learning Service and would suit an experienced education professional with adult and community learning or further education experience and excellent leadership and co-ordination skills.

The role is very varied and will suit someone with a strong background in adult and community or post-16 education with a passion for delivering high quality education.  You will be responsible for line managing a small team of project officers on a range of adult learning programmes and projects. There will be some attendance at events and meetings so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

The service directly delivers Family Learning Programmes in schools and children's centres providing opportunities for parents and carers to refresh their skills so that they are better able to support their children.  Information on the training providers we work with and the programmes we offer can be found on the 2aspire website: https://www.2aspire.org.uk

About the Team

You will be an integral part of an engaged, proactive, forward thinking and supportive team that provides over 6,000 training places to adults each year. You will co-ordinate the planning, delivery and reporting requirements of our contracted providers on Adult Learning and Multiply Programmes, in response to the Department for Education’s requirements as well as identified priorities across Lincolnshire.

Hybrid working is a feature of this role. The successful applicant will be required to attend the office alongside the rest of the team each Thursday. On occasion additional days may be required.

About you

You will need to be well organised, with high level leadership and co-ordination skills. You will possess excellent, communication and negotiation abilities, able to translate and implement strategy into action, be confident in developing strong relationships with partner organisations and managing project delivery.

You will demonstrate strong presentation skills, both verbal and written, sufficient to write and present reports to a range of audiences. With experience of  translating strategy into actions and the ability to manage change, you will work well under pressure and meet conflicting deadlines alongside undertaking complex work, using your knowledge and expertise in curriculum management and legislation.

Committed to your own personal development you will be willing to attend training and keep up to date with developments in the field including instigating peer review processes with internal and external colleagues sharing best practice.

This is an opportunity where the usual experience, education, knowledge and technical ‘know how’ are all pre-requisites, the ability to lead, manage and inspire your team with the right culture, is just as critical. Likewise, is the ability to form and continually develop long term relationships with our partners.

Applicants must be educated to Level 4 or equivalent and hold a teaching qualification at a minimum of Level 3.

Along with a competitive salary we are offering:

  • A Contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work
