Tenancy Officer

Housing and Estates Management

Permanent

37 Hours Per Week

NS8 £26,845 - £28,371 (Pay Award Pending)

This post is subject to a basic DBS check

Newark and Sherwood District Council is passionate about providing high quality, customer focused housing services to local people, putting tenants’ needs at the heart of everything. As a Tenancy Officer, you will be at the frontline of this, working closely with tenants and residents to ensure our communities are safe, happy, and sustainable places to live.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality tenancy services including tenancy sustainment, enforcement, and involvement. You will ensure relevant legislation and good practice is followed and work alongside other agencies to support our tenants.

We are looking for candidates with excellent knowledge of social housing issues, experience in tenancy and estates management, and with dealing with members of the public. You will also hold a HNC in Housing, or equivalent.

We offer a competitive salary, enrolment in the local government pension scheme, flexible hours, hybrid working, a generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service, free car parking*, a whole host of family-friendly benefits, 1 days’ paid volunteering leave, and £10/month membership at one of our four gyms in the district.

For an informal chat, or more information, about the role, please contact Dawn Turner, Senior Housing Officer, on 01636 655528.

To apply, please provide a CV and a covering. A supporting statement to the CV addressing the essential and desirable criteria for the post will be considered far more favourably than a generic covering letter and CV.

Please email recruitment@newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk for a copy of the job description and send your completed application to the same address.

As an employer we will promote an inclusive working environment to maintain and develop a forward thinking and diverse workforce.

Veterans/family of forces/ex-forces, those in care/care leavers, and candidates who declare disabilities (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) will be guaranteed interviews provided they have demonstrated that they meet the essential criteria of the post as detailed in the Person Specifications on their application forms.

Closing Date: 12 noon, Friday 24th March 2023

Interview: To be confirmed

*Free staff parking is valid until 31st July 2024.
