Income Collection & Enforcement Officer X2
Role Purpose
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within the Revenue Services Department (Income Collection & Enforcement Team) dealing with the recovery and enforcement of Council Tax, NNDR, and Sundry Debts.
There are 2 roles with one in the Business Rate Recovery team and the other in the Sundry Debt Income team.
Key Responsibilities
You will join our busy team dealing with large number of telephone calls, email and letters from residents, businesses, and other charge payers in relation to their business rate and sundry debt.
You will ensure that all types of collection and enforcement activity in relation to all streams of income is carried out in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with legislation and set performance targets.
Requirements
Ideally, you will have experience in a revenues environment and be able to demonstrate good knowledge on the sources of local government income. You will have a good understanding of the billing and recovery process for business rates and sundry debt.
Previous experience of dealing with ratepayers at the Magistrates’ Court is desirable for the business rate recovery role.
Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills will be needed to help you to manage your busy and varied workload.

Additional Information
The Service currently works in a hybrid environment with remote working and a presence in the office where required.
A satisfactory DBS clearance is required for these posts.
