Who?

What will you be doing?

Wealden District Council is looking for a Systems Accountant to take the lead on the management and development of the Council’s financial system (Advanced Business Systems E-Financials Suite). You will manage the financial system (with the support of Digital Service and the supplier) including all finance system developments to support the organisation, and improvements to processes and data quality. You will also provide financial and management accountancy support to the Head of Finance and Financial Services Manager during budget setting and year end accounting.

What do you need?

The ideal candidate will be either a qualified accountant, or AAT qualified/part qualified, or have proven equivalent knowledge/demonstrable experience of working in a systems focussed role in a similar sized organisation. You will also be an excellent communicator with excellent customer service skills and have the ability to analyse data and critically evaluate and present information from a range of sources.  You will be organised and methodical in order to meet tight and challenging deadlines and be ablet to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

You will need to have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

The role will require flexibility to work additional hours at peak times of activity such as year-end, with appropriate recompense in either time off or overtime payment.
