Please note this is a casual role. Hours are available as required and when the candidate is available to accept hours. Shifts will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 18:00.

 

The Active Reading team have an exciting opportunity for a casual Activity Ranger. This post supports the team to provide Play educational support at the Ranger Station, Prospect Park and in schools. This post plays an important role in the delivery of activities at both prospect park and wider play sessions supporting young people’s development and independence.

About the role

The site, the Ranger Station will become an important hub for our play services for young people and families including supporting the development of the education play services and running the sports programme at prospect park.

 

As a casual Activity Ranger, you will be supporting and leading a variety

of different types of play including creative play, respite support and SEN support, whilst actively seeking to engage children in play throughout each of the sessions and encouraging children to participate in play that supports their educational attainment, development and wellbeing.

 

  • This role will be providing support for our play services at the prospect park activity site and in schools or our community, working with young people providing safe, welcoming, and engaging play and learning.
  • Working with children, families, and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Activities at the Ranger Station include low ropes, mini golf and a climbing wall, although you will not have responsibility for the operations you may be involved in assisting with the sessions and a strong and positive customer focus will be required.
  • Form positive working relationships with clients, to help assist with the organisation of activities or assisting with the schedule of bookings.
  • The role will require you to undertake training relevant to the post and be a positive role modal for the young people we work with.
  • The role may require you to support with after school respite clubs and sessions and holiday play clubs.
