Housing Solutions Officer

This is an opportunity to join an experienced statutory housing solutions service within Knowsley. Ensuring everyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness has access to meaning full help tailored to the individual needs of the household.
To carry out formal investigations under the Housing Act 1996, to ensure that the Council fulfils its statutory duties. To determine applications, to ensure that customers are kept informed at all stages and to issue written notifications of all decisions made. To complete assessments and investigations of homeless approaches and applications in line with the Councils’ statutory duties under Housing Act 1996 Part 7 relevant case law and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous experience of working in a statutory homeless service for 2 years and have a BTEC National Certificate in housing or the equivalent The successful applicant will need to show a drive and commitment to preventing homelessness, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. A willingness to learn, adapt and lead change will also be required.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for covering the emergency out of hours service on a rota basis. This will be renumerated separately.
At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.
