Child Employment Support Assistant
The starting salary for this position is £18,594 per annum, based on a 28.80 hour working week, pro-rata to £23,243. This position is 4 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).
Our Child Employment Team ensures that Surrey County Council meets its statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in employment and entertainment.

The Child Employment Team provides a high-quality service to a variety of customers, including employers, production companies, parents, chaperones and agents which allows children in Surrey to fulfil many employment and performance opportunities.
As a Support Assistant you will be a key member of the team, providing administrative support to our Officers and Team Manager, helping us meet our statutory obligations and ensuring the welfare of the children and young people we support. We're looking for someone who is well organised with a flexible approach to their work to be able to manage a range of key administrative duties.
To be considered for shortlisting for this role your CV and personal statement should evidence:
- Excellent administration skills
- Experience of providing excellent customer service
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent IT skills (excel, Microsoft office etc.)
- Experience of working within a busy office environment and as part of a team
This role will involve a mix of both office and remote working. Our office base is in Woking although at times there may be a need to travel to other sites in Surrey to provide operational support.
Please note, there will be a requirement to work occasional, pre-arranged evenings for which time off in lieu is provided.
