Planning Technician
Are you interested in a career in Planning? Working with a skilled and knowledgeable team to ensure planning applications are managed to set Government targets, you will get hands-on experience in how a successful Planning department operates.
This is a varied and interesting post which provides comprehensive technical and administrative support to professional officers in the Development Management team.
You will be working in a small, busy team providing a high quality, customer-focused service - responsible for the logging, validation and registration of all types of planning, pre-applications and other related applications, supporting the monthly planning committee process, issuing planning decision notices and administering the planning appeals process. Full training will be given.
We are committed to personal development within our Planning Team and are looking for a self-motivated, career driven applicant who is keen to develop. We offer on-the-job experience while you study, fully funded for either a MA Chartered Town Planner (Level 7) or PgDip Chartered Town Planner (Level 4) qualification (subject to eligibility).
We are looking for candidates with a good level of education including Maths and English and the successful candidate will need to be well-organised, efficient with great attention to detail. You will be able to adjust to changing demands and be able to define priorities, work accurately and have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the general public.
The post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week).

The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London St. Pancras.
