(Permanent – Full Time 36 hours per week)
£21,076 – £23,703 per annum (pay award pending)
Working in the busy Housing Benefits section as part of a small pre-assessment team your main duties will include checking incoming claims for completeness, dealing with customer queries at the enquiry desk and over the telephone as well as scanning and indexing documents.
Previous benefit experience would be an advantage although training will be given, and you will need to have excellent communication and customer care skills with the ability to be both a team player and to work on your own initiative.
The hours are worked flexibly between 8am to 5pm daily to be agreed with the Manager.
Spelthorne currently has a hybrid working policy; however, this role is mainly office based due to the requirements of this position.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for customer facing posts. These posts fall within the scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The Council, therefore, has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
