Driving Standards Manager
The starting salary for this role is £36,282 per annum for working 36 hours per week.
This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
Surrey Fire & Rescue Service have an exciting position as a Driving Standards Manager, offered as a 12-month fixed term contract with the potential to extend should the KPI's be delivered.
We have a fleet of modern fire appliances and response cars and these vehicles have recently been fitted with CCTV and telematics systems to assist in collision investigation and to reduce fuel usage.
This is an exciting new position in the service to collate and analyse data from various sources to ensure service drivers hold the correct licence for their role, aid in collision investigation, and identify fuel usage patterns. In this role, you will work closely with the driver training manager based primarily at Reigate, though there will be a peripatetic element to develop KPI's and mechanisms to maximise benefits to the service. The role holder will be part of the service's 'Driver Training' team comprising a manager and 3 driver trainers.
Being a new role, you have the opportunity to shape how the function is delivered.
The post holder will have experience of working in a blue light environment, with a proven track record in collision investigation or reduction, and be able to analyse evidence and data from various sources.

Essential Criteria
- Full clean manual driving licence
- Experience of working in a blue light environment
- Experience of managing a high performing team delivering KPI's
- Response driving qualification
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to response driving and GDPR
- Proven track record of collision investigation and reduction
- Proven track record of data analysis to identify trends
- Experience of handling and documenting evidence
- Excellent IT skills particularly in Excel
- Ability to work on own initiative with solution focussed problem solving skills
Desirable Criteria
- Category 'C' LGV licence
- Collision Investigation qualification
- Assessor qualification
