We have an exciting opportunity available for a Building Control Surveyor to join our ambitious Building Control Team. 

As a two-way shared service across the combined authorities of Wokingham Borough Council and the district of West Berkshire Council, Building Control Solutions has set out to deliver quality building control services using innovative approaches to working.

ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to a Principal Building Control Surveyor, you’ll have the opportunity to get stuck into projects in either the Wokingham or West Berkshire area. 

Crucial to your role will be to ensure that our service users maintain compliance with building control regulations. You’ll check building regulation applications, undertake site visits, and provide effective advice to the service’s users.

Additionally, with your knowledge of the competitive issues surrounding building control, you’ll develop customer-oriented initiatives for the Service. You’ll take a proactive approach to your work, promoting the Building Control Service to secure major projects.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to hold an intermediate level qualification in Building Control.

You must have significant experience working in building control. You’ll also possess excellent working knowledge of building regulations and legislation relevant to enforcement.

In addition, you’ll have great communication skills, as you’ll need to be able to negotiate with customers and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
