Medway Archives Centre Manager and Archivist
Medway Council are seeking a passionate and qualified Archivist to lead and manage the important and newly accredited Medway Archives Centre (MAC) and its dedicated staff team.
Medway Archives Centre aims to help everyone discover the stories of Medway’s people and places. Whether its research on family history, the history of the local area, educational research, or to find inspiration for creative projects, MAC and its knowledgeable team helps discover information about the social, literary, economic, and governance history of Medway.
MAC was awarded Archive Service Accreditation in November 2021which recognises good performance in all areas of archive service delivery and the successful candidate will be expected to continue this excellent work.
Responsible for the development, preservation, access, and promotion of Medway’s local archives and management of the centre, you will have a strong commitment to customer care, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with a range of organisations.
