Presfield High School is an oversubscribed specialist provision which caters for students with a primary diagnosis of Autism from age 11 through to 19. All our 123 students have an EHCP which identifies Autism as their primary need. We are advocates of Dr Stephen Shore’s belief that “If you have met one child with autism you have met ONE child with autism”. This underpins all that we do and we are committed to challenging the stereotypical views that are often associated with Autism. We are an National Autistic Society Advanced accredited school and are currently preparing to become an NAS “Beacon” school.
We passionately believe in empowering our students and their families to advocate for their individual needs to support them to make meaningful contributions to society and to gain employment. This is demonstrated in our diverse curriculum that promotes both an aspirational academic and social pathway.

You will be leading an incredibly dedicated staff team and be in partnership with supportive and committed parents.
We are looking for a leader who can demonstrate a child focused approach, outstanding leadership qualities, an understanding of Autism and who has integrity and drive. It is expected that the successful candidate will demonstrate an aspirational attitude and a proven ability to care and communicate at all levels.

Due to the nature of the work involved, this post is "exempt" from the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
