Youth Support Workers
Salary: 
Starting from £11.18 per hour
Hours: 7.5 hours per week term-time, over 3 evenings or variable hour contracts. Optional additional hours during term-time and school holidays often available.

You will join one of 10 local teams delivering youth work projects in either North Herts, Stevenage, East Herts, Broxbourne, Welwyn & Hatfield, St Albans, Dacorum, Watford, Three Rivers or Hertsmere.

From delivering a diverse range of programmes including independent living skills and emotional wellbeing, to supporting young people in staying away from crime, anti-social behaviour and gang culture, to offering guidance on relationships and sexual health.  Our Youth Support Workers make a real difference to the prospects of young people aged 11 to 17, particularly those facing challenges in their home life, education or local community.  

You’ll help us deliver targeted prevention and early interventions, informal education opportunities and develop young people’s skills.  It’s highly rewarding and flexible work. 

We’re looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds who have skills to share in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, arts, media, music and health. If you’re keen to work with young people and have good communication and team-working skills, you’ll fit right in to our friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.  

We offer initial and ongoing training, including a funded recognised qualification: Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work.  Plus, excellent benefits including access to a national pension scheme.
