The extension of our project to support communities across Littlehampton needs an additional Community Warden to bring about a sense of safety to residents, visitors and businesses.
Working in direct partnership with communities, you will tackle the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour and implement initiatives to improve resilience and engagement amongst both the wider and vulnerable sections of the community. You will provide a highly visible and reassuring uniformed presence by way of foot patrols throughout the town and will be required to form close working relationships with the Police, anti-social behaviour team, the town council and other agencies.
We are keen to hear from people who have a flexible and approach, including the ability to work evenings and weekends, and who are strong team players but also show initiative when working alone. Knowledge and experience are relevant, but we are also looking for someone who has the necessary commitment and enthusiasm to fulfil this rewarding role, working with people in sometimes pressurised situations.
You will receive training in relevant areas, such as anti-social behaviour powers, lone working procedures, First Aid, and you must be willing to undertake Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) training.
This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to both Police Level 2 vetting and an enhanced DBS check.
This role is funded through a partnership between Arun District Council, and Littlehampton Town Council so an awareness of the responsibilities of each agency would be helpful.
For an informal discussion about the role please contact Dax O’Connor, Community Safety Officer, on 01903 737834 or email@example.com.
