We have an exciting opportunity available for an Overseas Arrivals Accommodation Co-ordinator to join our Housing Needs and Options Service, here at Wokingham Borough Council. This exciting new post will provide strategic direction for migration in the borough and will be responsible for coordinating a Council wide response to this increasing demand. This post will identify opportunities to prevent and relief homelessness for this cohort by coordinating bids for funding opportunities and effectively managing existing migration budgets to ensure that preventative measures are put into place that deliver quantifiable outcomes in service delivery.
The Role
As the Overseas Arrivals Accommodation Co-ordinator, you will work closely with senior officers in the Housing Needs and Options Service, as well as with other senior officers across the Council in key areas including Housing, Education, Transport and Community Safety. You will also work closely with the Voluntary and Community Sector.&nbsp;
Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your main responsibilities will include:

<li>Using data and intelligence to forecast migration numbers and future demands on Council services and to produce regular reports to inform the Corporate Leadership Team.</li>
<li>Undertake research to inform policy development and best practice.</li>
<li>Identify and assess potential risks associated with migration pressures, including financial and operational risks.</li>
<li>To manage migration budgets and migration related funding streams, ensuring that allocated budgets deliver preventative measures which lead to cost avoidance and long-term financial sustainability.</li>
<li>Apply project management principles including coordinating project meetings, producing project plans and risk registers; lead on all projects, strategies and policies relating to migration.</li>
<li>Represent the Council in regional forums and partnerships on migration and in discussions with central government bodies, advocating for local needs and ensuring alignment with national policies.</li>

About You
We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with an in-depth knowledge of migration, the asylum process and homelessness legislation. The ideal candidate will have:

<li>Experience of managing budgets, project management and partnership working.</li>
<li>An ability to collaborate with senior officers, Elected Members, and partners.</li>
<li>Strong research, evaluation, and analytical skills.</li>
<li>A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to inform and influence senior internal and external stakeholders in key decisions.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Programme or project management qualifications or demonstrable experience in supporting projects and/or programmes is highly desirable.</li>

The team includes workers linking in with SEND and educations provisions to support transitions, Social Workers and Social Care Practitioners with a focus on supporting young people, their families and the people that are important to them as well professionals that are supporting them. this includes Children’s Social Workers, SEND workers, education and health professionals. &nbsp;The focus of the team is to support young people to experience a successful transition into adult social care helping to prevent the cliff edge for those young people.&nbsp;This team is a great team who are determined to ensure the best transition for those they support. The Senior Social Worker role is imperative in supporting the work force, in ensuring their practice is strength based.&nbsp;This role is based within Staffordshire place 1 (Stafford town centre), and it is important to ensure you are in the office at least twice a week. The rest of the time home working can be accessed as needed.&nbsp;Main Responsibilities In this role you'll:<ul>
<li>Provide advice and guidance to practitioners, to ensure the best service delivered to those they are working with</li>
<li>Carry out quality assure assessments and provide strength based feedback</li>
<li>Directly provide professional supervision to around 8 staff members.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support on a rota for duty manager to support the duty function that sits within the team.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Hold a small and complex caseload, this can be a keyworker or joint work with practitioners on the team.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Support and work through court work as needed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide quality circles to ensure practice within the team is continuing the best practice.</li>
<li>Chair complex MDT's or best interests meetings.</li>
<li>Understand the importance of ensuring we maintain our Key performance Indicators</li>
</ul>The Ideal Candidate You will:<ul>
<li>Be an experienced social worker who has managed complex work</li>
<li>Demonstrate post qualification learning&nbsp;</li>
<li>Have a understanding and experience of Deprivation of liberty safeguards</li>
<li>Have relevant training and experience around safeguarding&nbsp;</li>
<li>Have experience of working with transitions and support those moving from childhood to adulthood</li>
<li>Be experienced in supporting and providing supervision to practitioners</li>
