About the role
This role is one of three financial accountants that supports the Deputy Chief Accountant in preparing the annual statement of accounts and liaising with external auditors. We are looking for a candidate to become a subject matter expert in capital accounting and be able to support the wider responsibilities of the team with General Ledger Controls and Technical Accounting Code Compliance.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Attention to detail is a must, driving high standards across all areas of presentation and service within your team and department, together with being able to develop strong relationships with other departments. Providing duty management cover as part of a rota is also essential.

Band E 30.00 Working Hours – 39 Weeks per Year Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are looking for a highly motivated person with strong organisational and people skills to manage a busy school and hospitality catering service in our school. Our total focus is on fresh, wholesome, modern and exciting food for our pupils. As a team leader with motivational flair, you will have a 'Hands On' approach and be involved in food production; as well as having good organisational and people management skills to manage and develop the services across the whole school day. A commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, customer care, and hygiene is essential. Ideally you should have a minimum of 5 years management experience within a catering environment and hold HND, NEBSS or similar qualification in catering management. We serve on average 250 meals a day across the whole school with over 400 on roll. You will be managing a team of four other staff and working in conjunction with our external catering consultancy. Working hours are currently 8am to 2pm, term time plus 5 Inset days. There are 25 Assembly Members, elected every four years at the same time as the Mayor. The Secretariat works for the Assembly to support its activities.
<h2>About the team and role</h2>
The Liberal Democrat Group scrutinises the work of the Mayor across the policy areas of transport, housing, environment, policing, health, the economy, planning and regeneration, fire and emergency planning, and the Mayor’s multi-billion pound budget. Applications are invited from candidates with extensive press and media experience in a busy office and of working for elected representatives or similar high profile public individuals.
Your role will involve working closely with the team’s Senior Researcher who leads on communications and the two Research and Support Officers, including setting and co-ordinating the day-to-day work of the team. You will need to liaise with external stakeholders to ensure that the work of the group is represented and promoted through a variety of media, both proactively and reactively promoting the work of the Assembly Members.&nbsp; An in-depth knowledge and understanding of a variety of media is vital.
You will work across the full range of policy areas and produce policy briefings and issues papers to be communicated internally and externally. This role works closely with the team and two elected politicians in a dynamic, friendly environment.&nbsp; The work is fast moving and varied.
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>

<li>Producing media monitoring reports for Assembly Members;</li>
<li>Writing briefings for Assembly Members on upcoming Committee meetings, interviews and events;</li>
<li>Responding to media and press enquiries to promote the work of the group.</li>

<h2>Skills, knowledge and experience</h2>
To be considered for the role you must meet the following essential criteria:

<li>Experience of working with elected politicians and/or senior officers: Developing rapport and working effectively with a diverse range of people, sharing knowledge and skills to deliver shared goals;</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of media handling techniques, including strategies, including designing and delivering an effective communications plan for an elected politician;</li>
<li>Experience of responding to media / press enquiries, and using a variety of media to generate coverage;</li>
<li>Demonstrable research skills, to enable quick and effective grasp of information from a range of sources on a wide range of policy topics, and proven experience of policy briefing in a political/ public sector organisation.</li>
<li>Organisational awareness: Understanding and being sensitive to organisational dynamics, culture and politics across and beyond the GLA and shaping our approach accordingly.</li>

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to join the dedicated team at Poulton Lancelyn Primary School to assist with teaching and learning in Year 2.
This role will be primarily to support a specific, high-functioning child with learning and to support with transition periods.
