Operational Duties &amp; Accountabilities
You will&nbsp;support the Regulatory Compliance Manager in the success of Fire Compliance creating excellent partnerships, lead the fire compliance strategy and provide professional technical support expertise in fire safety.
- We need an enthusiastic, driven individual to manage the Fire Compliance in line with current regulations and council policy, &nbsp;delivering &nbsp;responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance.
- Ensure that all homes and common areas meet required regulatory standards and internal policies adhered to, ensuring the safety of our tenants and members of the public, through the planning control and delivery of periodic testing, servicing, maintenance, and upgrade programmes of work
- You will be responsible for all aspects of contract management and administration including day to day oversight of work in progress, managing the relevant compliance contracts appropriately, meeting regularly with contractors to ensure they complete works to a high quality and deliver a cost-effective service, on time, including full budgetary oversight.
- Line Manage the Compliance Officer (Fire) &nbsp;to oversee contract administration or work orders for cyclical inspections and remedial or upgrade works. Supporting them to lead on the FRA’s,&nbsp; Fire Door Inspections and communal fire safety works, and complete actions as required.
- Identify and document both current and potential strategic and operational fire risks, review fire strategies, policies and processes to reduce, or eliminate risks and contribute to the service development plan providing innovative solutions to continually improve our services
- Plan and manage project works that arise from Fire Risk Assessments including fire door replacements programmes and compartmental projects both in Senior Living Scheme, communal areas and general housing stock.
This role is a Fixed Term contract for 18 months.

Key responsibilities

Candidate requirements

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager for our Family Placement Team, this is a part time opportunity working 22.2 hours per week.

As an Assistant Team Manager in our Family Placement Team, you will share our commitment to improving outcomes for those children in our care, working part time (22.2 hours per week) alongside our existing managers.
You will be a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England, and have significant post qualifying experience working with children and families in the statutory sector. You will want to make a difference to the lives of children and young people.
You will have experience of working within the legal frameworks that support our work; with good assessment and analytical skills, and experience in completing Form F, Special Guardianship Orders and Connected Person Assessments as well as supervising and supporting our existing foster carers.
As an Assistant Team Manager, you will have a sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, good report writing and oral communication skills and the ability to work to court and Fostering Panel timescales.
You will share our commitment for better outcomes for children and young people.

The Family Placement Team is a small and very supportive team. The work we do can be challenging and we understand the importance of peer support and advice.

About the Role:
Lead on all day-to-day operations of the historic landscape of Birkenhead Park through management of the estate management team and visitor services team, with support from Friends groups and other organisations, ensuring that the park is well-used by stakeholder groups and events, while it remains in the highest quality state of maintenance of a Grade I listed historic park, and an aspirant a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In close collaboration with the World Heritage project team, deliver and implement the key objectives as set out in Birkenhead Parks Management Plan relating to its development including income generation, landscape changes, visitor services, and planting schemes.
About the candidate:
We would like to hear from you have HNC/HND in the Park Management Sector or equivalent qualification and experience along with understanding of heritage, conservation, land management and listed garden requirements. You should have the ability to form, build and maintain strong, effective working partnerships with other Council teams, the local community and external agencies.
Also required is strong networking and stakeholder management skills including presenting reports to committee and addressing public meetings with knowledge and understanding of World Heritage Sites and their management requirements.

More information can be found here <a href="https://www.workingforessex.com/working-here/pay-reward/" target="_blank">pay and reward</a>.The Role:This is a varied and challenging role, as a minute taker within our team, you will be supporting a variety of ECC meetings varying from social care meetings for Adults &amp; Children, through to Corporate and HR meetings.As a Business Support Assistant, you may also provide general administrative support to ECC, dealing with day to day work instructed from the Business Centre Manager. Great customer service skills are required as this is a customer facing role. Accurate and efficient data entry onto ECC systems is also required, to ensure that all customer service requests are met within a specified time frame and are in line with data protection policies.About You:You will:<ul>
<li>Have a good standard of basic education - 5 GCSEs grade C and above (including Maths and English) or a minimum of 6 months office experience.</li>
<li>Have minute taking experience - however full training will be provided.</li>
<li>Have excellent face to face customer service skills, communication and conflict management skills.</li>
<li>Have the ability to use computerised systems with a high level of speed and accuracy - including Microsoft Office applications and internal ECC databases.</li>
<li>Have previous experience of managing electronic or hard copy filing systems.</li>
<li>Be able to communicate in a manner which is easily understood and tailored to meet the needs of the audience.</li>
<li>As part of the role, you may have access to sensitive and/or personal information, therefore you will need to understand and follow GDPR regulations.</li>
<li>Have the ability to think about alternative ways of doing things and being open to new work practices and responsive to change.</li>
<li>Have the ability to take ownership of work and fulfil agreed commitments, checking work for accuracy.</li>
<li>Be reliable for on-site working.</li>
<li>Strong telephony and IT skills are desirable.</li>
</ul>What will you be doing?<ul>
<li>Provide note/minute taking support to various function across ECC.</li>
<li>Provide high quality, efficient and effective Business Support services to internal and external customers within agreed timescales and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).</li>
<li>Responding to customer requests and queries in a timely and efficient way.</li>
<li>Act as a professional representative of the Business Support service at a local level, dealing with customers face to face and via telephone or redirecting in line with Essex customer standards.</li>
<li>Delivering the required activities of the respective business centre(s).</li>
<li>Providing high quality self-directed administrative support, checking own work and proactively looking to raise standards.</li>
<li>Maintaining confidential records according to Essex County Council guidance.</li>
<li>Dealing with correspondence for the team or service in a timely, consistent and professional manner.</li>
<li>Sharing knowledge and good practice with colleagues and highlighting more efficient ways of doing tasks.</li>
<li>Covering Essex County Council building receptions.</li>
<li>Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.</li>
