About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will work closely with other service areas and with external providers, to ensure that they meet service levels for compiling information and providing good quality reporting. Therefore, excellent communication skills are essential.
You will have the ability to work effectively to meet tight deadlines, when you have several competing demands on your time. The ideal candidate will also have good customer service skills and be able to manage difficult situations.

Key responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Dealing with resident and customer enquiries in relation to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Council Tax via phone, email and face to face contact</li>
<li>Support the operation of the service and take ownership for processes and procedures using best practice from others where appropriate.</li>
<li>Lead on the concessionary fares &amp; Local Welfare Provision application processes.</li>
<li>Dealing with the more complex customer issues and support &amp; mentor Advisors to develop their skills and practice</li>
<li>Assisting with the effective monitoring and review mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement in delivery of services.</li>
<li>Support the administration of Housing Benefit &amp; Council Tax Reduction claims and re-assessments.</li>

Candidate requirements:

A brand new opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Tenancy Ready Officer to join our service to create and implement a tenancy ready programme to help identify individuals to become tenancy ready. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team and help individuals become tenancy-ready through a tenancy ready programme, ensuring they can sustain a successful and long-term and secure home.
You will play a vital role, providing practical support to customers following a framework, guiding them through the process of becoming tenancy-ready, and ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities as tenants. You will work closely with other support services, landlords, and agencies to deliver a service that empowers individuals to take the next steps in securing a tenancy.
You will need to be a strong communicator, organised, motivated and ideally have experience of working in the housing sector or providing support.
You will need a full driving licence and access to your own transport to cover the travel requirements of the post, which will include travelling across the District to reach those in need of support.

What will you be doing? As a Gas Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and functionality of gas installations and maintenance across the Council’s housing stock and corporate properties.Working independently or as part of a team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality gas services in compliance with regulations and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:<ul>
<li>Carry out gas maintenance and repair works as specified in work orders.</li>
<li>Undertake gas installation and maintenance tasks within your designated area, ensuring all work aligns with current Risk Assessments &amp; Method Statements (RAMS)&nbsp;and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).</li>
<li>Maintain the necessary qualifications, training, and industry registration&nbsp;to ensure compliance and competency.</li>
<li>Use mobile devices&nbsp;to complete reports, certifications, order materials, and request follow-up work.</li>
<li>Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Gas Installation and Use Regulations 1998&nbsp;and the latest Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure.</li>
<li>Manage van stock of materials&nbsp;and ensure vehicle maintenance, including cleaning and fuel level checks.</li>
<li>Adhere to asbestos-related responsibilities&nbsp;and training requirements.</li>
<li>Follow safe working practices, comply with the Council’s Health &amp; Safety policy, and ensure all PPE and tools are maintained and used appropriately.</li>
</ul>About you To excel in this role, you will be a qualified and registered Gas Engineer&nbsp;with the technical expertise and experience to carry out installations, repairs, and maintenance effectively. <li>CCN1 Core Gas Safety&nbsp;certification.</li>
<li>Hold current gas registration.</li>
<li>Certified in CPA1, CKR1, CENWAT1, MET1, HTR1, Range Cooker, and Unvented Hot Water.</li>
