About the Role: We work with people with complex mental health difficulties, people with forensic histories, carers and families, and we have a re-enablement service and hoarding service within our team. We seek creative ways to work together to meet the needs of people who use our services together. The Mental Health Social Care Team aims to actively promote wellbeing and independence, working with people with complex mental health difficulties in partnership with health colleagues. Supporting people to retain or regain their skills and confidence by using existing and new support networks, Technology Enabled Care (TEC), equipment and short-term interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Provide high-quality support and coordination of care services for adults with mental health needs.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans.</li>
<li>Assess, monitor, and review the needs of individuals to ensure appropriate services are provided.</li>
<li>Advocate for service users, ensuring their voice is heard and their rights are respected.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and reports in line with legal and organisational requirements.</li>
<li>Working to undertake assessments, provide care plans and meet the needs of adults with mental heath needs.</li>
<li>To undertake reviews and make amendments to care plans of adults with mental health needs.</li>
<li>Experience working with people with mental health difficulties and or complex needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
You will hold a caseload of people with mental health difficulties and due the nature of the work you will need to have a good understanding of risk management; managing yourself in difficult environments; flexible and able to analyse varied information or situations to produce solutions.
 You will work within the legal framework provided by the statute, guidance, policies, and procedures. This role offers flexible working arrangements, including remote working options. However, applicants must be within commuting distance of Reading as site visits are an essential part of the role.

We work with extended families to enable them to support the children that they care for, which we know can at times be difficult for them.As a Social Worker on the Kinship Team, you will be expected to undertake the following:<ul><li>Assess potential Kinship Carers suitability to foster, or Special Guardians suitability to care for children until adulthood.</li><li>Complete regular home visits including unannounced visits during and following the assessment process.</li><li>Regular communication with everyone involved in the child or young person’s life including meetings, reviews and information sharing.</li><li>Support Kinship Carers to attend meetings, help with their report writing and ensure that they keep appropriate records.</li><li>Work with the child(ren)’s Social Worker and Kinship Carers to manage and maintain family time between the children and their parents.</li><li>Support the carers to access relevant training opportunities each carer may need.</li><li>Support carers to meet the national minimum standards and regulatory requirements which are needed to become a Kinship Carer.</li><li>Write balanced reports including annual foster carer reviews, present reviews at fostering panel with carers and contribute to writing standards of care/allegation reports when necessary.</li><li>Offer practical and emotional support to Kinship Carers.</li></ul>This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Building Control Surveyor x 2
About the role:
We are looking to appoint 2 self-motivated and ambitious registered Building Control Surveyors to join our highly professional and successful Building Control Team.
You will need to hold min Class 2F or 3 registrations with the Building Safety Regulator and have Chartered Member, Member or Fellow Chartered Member of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or alternative acceptable professional body.
You will be responsible for undertaking plan assessment, site inspections and enforcement work across a wide spectrum of works ranging from small domestic projects up to large complex commercial developments subject to the Registration class of the successful candidate.
In addition, the role involves assessing and undertaking any reasonable actions to protect the public from dangerous structures, unauthorised works, demolition work and works that form obstructions to the public highway and participation in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
About the candidate:
You will have substantial experience and understanding of the role and functions of Building Control and have a sound knowledge of the Building Regulations, Approved Documents, allied legislation and enforcement procedures.
You’ll have experience of dealing with dangerous buildings and structures and implementing enforcement action when necessary.
Hold Corporate Membership of CABE / RICS or acceptable alternative.
You’ll need to hold Class 2F or 3 Registration with the Building Safety Regulator in respect of Plans assessment and inspection activities.
You’ll need to be able to participate in the Councils out of hours emergency call out service.
You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and be able to work both individually and as part of a team.
You will hold a full, valid driving licence and have unrestricted use of a suitable vehicle for business purposes or be able to otherwise demonstrate the ability to travel to locations in an efficient and timely manner.
