To be responsible for completing a range of enhancement projects across the external communal areas of the council’s housing stock. The post holder will need to a provide a professional standard at a highly productive level, acting with minimum supervision. 
To undertake a range of works demonstrating proficient level skills and experience including carpentry (boxed planters), painting, pressure washing, window cleaning, guttering cleaning and basic grounds maintenance tasks. 
The post holder will act as first point of contact for the residents in the Neighbourhood and must ensure they deliver a customer focused service in line with best value. 
The post holder will be required to work as part of a team or individually providing services to our customers. 
Key responsibilities include: 
1. Operational 
 
 - Work in a range of housing locations throughout the borough completing specified works to a high standard of excellence (in terms of completion of jobs and with customers/clients). 
 - To deliver a consistent standard of excellence. 
 - To operate all post and service related IT hard and software. Including mobile technology to aid modern ways of working and gathering and recording data for information systems and inventories 
 - To plan, identify and allocate required materials and resources. 
 - This is a physically demanding role. The role holder will be expected to climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces, lift and move heavy objects, tools and materials safely and undertake other tasks as necessary for the completion of the work with a high regard to health and safety to themselves and others. 
 
2. Stakeholder Collaboration: 
 
 - To promote and deliver a customer centred service that is responsive to internal and external customer needs, and places resident and key stakeholder’s involvement at the heart of the service. 
 - Collaborate with internal colleagues, contractors &amp; external organisations to deliver enhancement initiatives. 
 
3. Health &amp; Safety: 
 
 - To ensure compliance to Health and Safety rules and regulations in all work activities, including: wearing and utilising PPE (Protective Personal Equipment), maintaining the PPE, adhering to method statements and risk assessments, and participating in the development and maintenance of Safe Systems of Work 
 - To comply with customer care guidelines and initiatives and carry out all duties in accordance with the council’s approach to public sector equality duties. To be responsive to priorities based on resident need and vulnerability and corporate policy. 
 - To participate in a CPD programme, including statutory training, to maintain and improve individual skills, expertise and knowledge.’

The role requires a person with the skills to buy the ingredients to prepare and cook a varied menu of healthy and nutritious meals for children and young people who have learning disabilities and associated health needs. All food will need to be freshly prepared each day and the successful candidate will need to be able to prepare a wide variety of foods catering for different dietary requirements.
This role will be worked over two days a week and will involve working every other weekend.
The role also requires the cook to maintain the kitchen and meet all regulatory standards.

Making a Difference as Assistant Team Manager in Children’s Services
This is a pivotal role in our teams, supporting the management of, and leading a team of qualified social care staff and support workers, who undertake children’s social care safeguarding assessments, support, and intervention services to vulnerable children.
To apply for this post, we will need you to have a knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and associated guidance with reference to the Council’s duties and responsibilities, knowledge and understanding of complex child protection issues, an understanding of child development and the impact of abuse and deprivation on development and an understanding of the concept of working in partnership with families.
We are seeking individuals with a minimum of 3 years post- qualification experience in a social work setting including child protection work. You will have CQSW, CSS, Dip SW Registered Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England, or will apply for registration before taking up the post. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise existing skills and develop new ones. You will receive continuous support, development, and career progression opportunities on your journey with us.
The current post is within the Duty Service. This service is responsible for responding to all referrals, completing assessments, and undertaking sec 47 enquiries. Once assessments are completed and a plan agreed, cases will either be held for short review, or transferred to Help and Protection teams for longer term intervention as CP or PLO, long term CIN.
The posts include some home working but will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas.

Customer Services Advisor Level 2 – x1 Fixed term Contract (12 months)We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions.&nbsp; Part-time hours are available at 18.5 hours per week, with a fixed daily schedule between 10:00 am to 2:30 pm (Salary will be pro rata to the number of hours worked)Council Tax Team - You will be part of a customer service team answering customer enquiries for a range of benefits including Council Tax Support; in addition, you will answer enquiries in relation to Council Tax liability, Payment Plans and changes to a customers’ circumstances.
