About the role 

As part of the Communities &amp; Homes Service you’ll be responsible for the statutory independent reviews function in relation to the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) Part VII homelessness decisions, &amp; Part VI housing allocations, ensuring that decisions are consistent with the Council’s statutory responsibilities &amp; allocations scheme.
You’ll take a primary role in improving the quality of services provided to homeless individuals through consistent quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with local and national standards.
The role includes developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to staff on improving the quality of government required data return and homeless decision making.

About you 
You’ll need comprehensive and expert knowledge of housing functions and related law and statutory guidance sufficient to handle legal challenges alongside a Professional Qualification of either Chartered Institute of Housing.
Demonstrable experience of s202 homeless reviews &amp; part VI allocation reviews is needed as well as knowledge and application of the Housing Act 1996 Part VI and Part VII as amended.
Experience and ability to analyse performance management information and make recommendations for improvements and the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing are also key.

As a Senior Planning Officer you will have the opportunity to become involved in varied and challenging casework focusing on larger housing and commercial applications, as well as providing support and advice to both colleagues in other departments and Elected Members to deliver the Council’s priorities. You will also be required to provide excellent pre-application advice to applicants, developers and architects.
Ideally you will have experience of not only managing a casework of challenging planning applications, but have also been involved in negotiating s106 agreements and presenting at Committees.&nbsp; Experience of hearings and public inquiry appeal work is also preferable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring planning officer to start their Development Management career, or a current Development Management Officer who is looking for the next step and to deal with more complex planning applications.
You will be required to work to tight deadlines and service level agreements to ensure we offer an efficient and effective service to our customers. Responsible for handling a wide range of planning applications, the successful candidate will offer pre-application advice, process planning applications and appeals, as well as negotiate with developers and other third parties.
For grade SO1/ 2, candidates will need to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the town planning system and ability to produce written reports to a high standard and be committed to a career pathway for membership to the Royal Town Planning Institute to become a chartered town planner such as entry onto a RTPI course to become a Planning Assistant.
For grade PO1, candidates will need to be eligible for membership to the RTPI - either through obtaining an RTPI accredited degree (minimum of a level 4 Town Planning Assistant

As a Floor Layer, you will provide a comprehensive and quality service. You will undertake floor laying in various buildings, houses, flats, and maisonettes owned or managed by the Council. Wearing the Council uniform and carrying ID cards at all times is mandatory. Additionally, you will improve the quality of services to customers/clients, achieve minute targets/job counts set under the Pay and Productivity Scheme, and identify any additional work required. This role also requires availability for emergency call-out as part of a rota system for out-of-hours emergencies. Requirements:

Evidence of this must be included with your application. <h2>About the role</h2>As a Social Worker you will support the delivery of statutory duties placed upon us by the Care Act carrying and other tasks related to the provision of Mental Health Services. These duties will relate to individuals, families and carers in accordance with relevant statutory legislation.&nbsp;Community Mental Health Services in Brighton &amp; Hove has a well-established Section 75 (S.75) agreement in place. This agreement contributes to the improvement in mental health and wellbeing and results in easier access to a more responsive mental health service.The S.75 agreement between Brighton and Hove City Council and Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust has been in place for many years and has meant several Social Care staff have been co-located within the Trust to deliver statutory duties. &nbsp;This way of working in close partnership has been valued by both organisations, and by those that use our services, and this new agreement seeks to maintain and strengthen this collaborative way of working.The S.75 agreement serves as a significant tool in achieving the ambitions to transform adults and older adults’ community mental health services and reduce health inequalities.&nbsp;In practice, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Brighton and Hove City Council delegate tasks to each organisation to ensure a joined-up health and social care offer to those that use our services. Relevant training and support will be provided when acting on behalf of the other organisation and it also means that you're able to access a number of other training, learning and development opportunities from both organisations.We are looking for someone with relevant experience of holding complex casework, someone who has high professional standards and who is keen to continue their professional development. An excellent knowledge of current legislation such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act is essential.Warranted Approved Mental health Act Professionals (AMHPs) will be encouraged to take part in the rota arrangements for the AMHP provision across the city. The AMHP service operates from the AMHP team’s base at Millview Hospital in Hove. A market supplement of £3500 p.a. is paid for 30 days a year on this rota, subject to satisfactory adherence to the 2008 Regulations for AMHPs.You will receive regular supervision and support and have opportunities for ongoing development and specialist training including AMHP training, subject to the Local Authority’s selection process.The post holder will be responsible for:<ul>
<li>Providing advice to staff about proportionate and personalised responses to service users and their carers.</li>
<li>Helping to embed consideration of strengths and relationship based practice in all of our assessment processes.</li>
<li>Providing a specialist view and/or intervention in the assessment and management of risk</li>

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours&nbsp;or term-time only.
