The Post
An exciting opportunity within Brent Customer Access has arisen in our Revenues &amp; Debt service. The successful post holder will be responsible for inspecting new and altered dwellings and hereditaments to ensure that the Council Tax and Business Rates Lists are accurately maintained, and the accurate valuation requests are raised to the Valuation Office.
The successful candidate is one who can work effectively as part of a team, be able to effectively manage the day-to-day work and actively contribute to the achieving the team’s objectives.
As an Inspector you need to be able to travel around the borough and work as a ‘lone worker’.
A full clean driving licence is desirable.
The Person
You need to possess good knowledge of the Council Tax, NNDR and Valuation regulations; being familiar with the Brent area and experience with inspecting is desirable. You need to have energy, be well organised, be positive and passionate in your approach and be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritise and manage their inspection workload and ensure that team targets are achieved. Are you passionate about empowering communities and making a real difference in people’s lives? Brent Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated&nbsp;Community Engagement Officer&nbsp;to join our Community Engagement team.
In this exciting role, you’ll lead and support a wide range of community engagement and consultation initiatives across one of London’s most diverse boroughs. From organising&nbsp;Brent Connect Meetings&nbsp;to promoting resident participation through the&nbsp;Go Vocal platform, you’ll be at the heart of shaping how we connect with our communities.
Key Responsibilities include to:
<ul>
<li>Deliver inclusive and high-quality engagement activities across the borough.</li>
<li>Organise and manage community events, including logistics and promotion.</li>
<li>Support and guide council teams in delivering meaningful consultations.</li>
<li>Promote and monitor participation in council grant programmes.</li>
<li>Act as a key liaison with community groups and voluntary organisations.</li>
<li>Collect and analyse data to showcase the impact of engagement work.</li>
</ul>
The Person

We are looking for someone with proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or public consultation. You will have the ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends and strong organisational and communication skills. You will also be a collaborative team player with a passion for diversity and inclusion and be confident in using digital tools and platforms like Microsoft Office and MS Teams.

You will undertake varied, high-quality work with likeminded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and excellent client care. HB Public Law is one of the country’s leading shared local authority legal practices between a number of Northwest London and out of London boroughs; it is Lexcel accredited and we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service. About You The successful candidate will be required to carry a full caseload dealing with matters relating to employment, providing advice and dealing with employment tribunal claims.. There is also an opportunity to take on work relating to education law.You will be required to pick up a caseload from the outset. We will consider less experienced individuals with the right personal qualities and an excellent approach to client care who are able to grow into the role.
