About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a varied and impactful portfolio of engineering projects across the borough.
You’ll be responsible for:
<ul>
<li>Managing and developing the Engineering team and associated budgets 
</li>
<li>Leading projects covering car parking, drainage, land management, and more 
</li>
<li>Advising on flood risk and working closely with partners such as the Environment Agency and Kent County Council 
</li>
<li>Overseeing winter maintenance, bridge inspections, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure</li>
</ul>
You’ll work from our Kings Hill offices, with flexibility to work remotely and regular opportunities to be out on-site across the borough.
About You
You’ll hold a degree or HND in Civil Engineering and have a full UK driving licence. While previous managerial experience is an advantage, we’re open to applications from technically strong candidates who are ready to develop their leadership skills with our support.
Your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and collaborative approach will be key to delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality infrastructure for our residents.

HGV Driver/Loader

Our service ensures the safe collection of waste throughout the district. As HGV Driver/Loader you’ll take ownership and be responsible for your round ensuring that it is completed to the best possible standard.

What you will be doing

<li>Leading the Housing Policy and Enforcement team, managing officers and external contractors to deliver the Council’s housing priorities.</li>

As Civic Chauffeur, you will be responsible for transporting the Chairman and Civic party to official engagements, ensuring timely arrivals through effective route planning and providing courteous support throughout events. You will also assist with the care and security of the Chains of Office, maintain the Civic vehicle to a high standard, and support the Civic Officer in hosting events.

This is an exciting opportunity to join to Fleet and Workshop team in the role of Advanced Engineering Technician. Based within the Council’s in house Fleet and Workshop operation a proactive and motivated person is required to help maintain and repair the Council’s diverse fleet of vehicles. &nbsp;Our fleet is made up of dustcarts or refuse collection vehicles, double deck buses, coaches, minibuses, vans, vans with tipping bodies, road sweepers and gritting vehicles to name a few! Certainly if you are looking a variety of vehicles to work on you will find that with us!
Some of the duties and responsibilities of an Advanced Engineering Technician are:

<li>Diagnose and enact repairs on a variety of vehicles.</li>
<li>Conduct periodic maintenance inspections and complete the inspections and relate paperwork to the required standards.</li>
<li>Place orders to enable suitable parts to be ordered to enact repairs.</li>
<li>Assist colleagues when required.</li>
<li>Mentor and develop individuals whom are apprentices or work experience placements.</li>
<li>Prepare vehicles for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s MOT test and on occasion complete MOT testing as a delegated tester.</li>
