We're looking for a dedicated and skilled Sign and Communication Tutor to join our well established Children's Sensory Team within Education Services.This vital role involves leading the development and promotion of various communication methods, including Total Communication, British Sign Language (BSL), Sign Supported English (SSE), and Makaton, across Harrow's educational settings and in homes. You'll play a key part in maximizing the communication skills of children and young people who are deaf, have hearing needs (some children and young people have additional needs), including those with cochlear implants.You'll also work closely with families of pre-school children, empowering them to communicate effectively with their children through signing and other communication skills. We embarked on a large&nbsp; transformation programme for both residents and colleagues, have achieved Customer Service Excellence and the&nbsp; Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation, and will be delivering our new asset investment programme based on the best stock condition survey data in the sector, delivering investment to residents homes, fire and building safety works along with much more.&nbsp; We have a strong commitment to colleague engagement, health, wellbeing and flexible working.We are looking for&nbsp; a skilled professional who is able to lead the Home Ownership Service reporting to the Operations Director.&nbsp; The successful candidate will be responsible &nbsp;for a range of duties including&nbsp; service and major works billing and collection, right to buy and resales, leading the buy back and acquisition programme on behalf of LB Sutton, carrying out Section 20 consultation for major works, procurement and long term qualifying agreements, representing SHP for regeneration sites and develop new business opportunities to provide leasehold and shared ownership services for third party organisations, and will be able to forge strong collaborative relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes for residents and partners. &nbsp;An ambitious and inspirational leader you will inspire colleagues with their passion for home ownership and customer service excellence. You will have a proven track record of achievement at senior level in social housing, either with a local authority or a registered provider.&nbsp; It is desirable for you to be a member of a relevant professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent or be willing to undertake professional development leading to a qualification.&nbsp; You must be passionate about excellent customer service, meeting challenging performance outcomes and training and developing knowledge in others. You will be an excellent communicator, able to influence across the business and have the confidence and professionalism to work with colleagues at all levels. With experience of operating at a senior leadership level in a housing context, you’ll have experience of budgeting, financial forecasting and reporting within a commercial setting and a good understanding of housing and landlord regulatory compliance requirements. Commercially driven and able to deliver efficiency savings and achieve value for money but through collaborative working to achieve the best outcomes for tenants. The Post
As an Area Tenancy Manager (Housing Officer), you’ll manage end-to-end tenancies for a patch of social tenants or licensees. You will provide varied support to Brent residents to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes, acting as the face of the landlord for your patch.
You'll have the opportunity to develop detailed knowledge across various areas of tenancy management, including voids, lettings, income and arrears, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and providing support based on an individual person’s needs. This role is an excellent career opportunity to develop varied skills, experience and knowledge across the social housing sector.
With a consistent and smaller patch of properties, you’ll improve the quality and perception of the Housing Management Service. You’ll work with services across the Council to ensure vulnerable tenants have access to services they need, and Brent’s estates and homes are good quality, safe, and secure.
You will also uphold the guidelines set out by the Social Housing Regulation Act 2023, demonstrating a commitment to improving standards and ensuring the safety and quality of our social housing in compliance with this critical legislation.
