We are currently seeking 1 x Senior Assessment &amp; Allocation Officer to be responsible for the accurate assessment and fair allocation of permanent social housing/temporary accommodation.

You will respond to service requests from residents, take part in pro-active enforcement action and also deal with licensing of houses in multiple occupation.&nbsp; The role will demand knowledge of Housing legislation, enforcement procedures and casework, HHSRS and guidance.
The successful applicant is likely to have worked in a local authority Environmental Health and Housing setting for a couple of years and will be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of associated statutory and regulatory functions.

You will need a minimum of 2 years’ experience in processing Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction scheme, this includes complex assessments such as Universal Credit, Self-Employed, Students, and Persons from Abroad. You will help those on low income to sustain their tenancies ensuring their benefits are maximised. 
 
You will work using your own initiative and prioritise conflicting deadlines, manage your time efficiently with good communication skills. You will need a good standard of numeracy and literacy, effectively responding to enquiries received by letter, telephone and e-mail. 
 
You will need to understand and be responsive to customer’s needs, always presenting a positive and professional image to the customer, whilst ensuring effective engagement with vulnerable and challenging customers.

Flood Risk and Drainage Officer

The post holder will be required to implement the provisions of relevant legislation by means of appropriate enforcement so as to achieve an improvement to the street scene environment.
