Local Government Reform (LGR) presents us with an opportunity, and we are looking for someone who sees the bigger picture who can turn change into progress and drive forward the strategic direction of the service.You will ensure that the team not only delivers high-quality construction oversight but also play a leading role in identifying and implementing opportunities for expanding discretionary services, positioning the team as a valued partner for developers and businesses. This will include:Evolving service delivery by embracing digital tools and modern practices to improve efficiency and customer experience.Making timely and sound determinations on building regulation applications and advising on compliance matters.Helping to devise and monitor a robust business plan for the building control service.Representing the Council in enforcement actions, policy discussions, and collaborative partnerships.Overseeing investigations into dangerous structures and enforcement cases.In order to excel in this role we need you to be a strong leader with ambition, and adaptability.
