The Axis Academy are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Farm Caretaker to manage and maintain our developing school farm which is designed to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role involves supporting the Outdoor Learning Mentor with animal care, farm maintenance and compliance with UK animal welfare and health &amp; safety policies.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work in an educational setting and helping students engage with animals and nature in a therapeutic and educational environment.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with students and staff under the direction of the Outdoor Learning Mentor to support the needs of the farm.
Our farm currently has goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs with the prospect of additional animals in the autumn term. We do not expect the successful applicant to have experience with these animals because full training and support will be provided; our expectation is that you have a love of animals as we do.
This position will require limited weekend work to check and feed the animals. Hours will be fairly flexible depending on the needs of the farm and will be discussed at interview.
In addition to the 16 hours available for this position, there may be the possibility of an additional 10 hours available supporting teachers to prepare for lessons. Again, this can be discussed further with you.

Social Worker: Children In Care 16+ TeamX2 Social Workers (HBC7/8)X1 Advanced Social Worker (HBC9)Do you have a passion to make a difference to the lives of children in care?We are interested in hearing from dedicated Social Workers who would like to join our Children in Care Team, working with adolescents including unaccompanied asylum seeking separated children.Our Team:The team is responsible for ensuring that all Children in Care and Care Leavers are&nbsp;supported to achieve positive outcomes and&nbsp;support them in planning to build their lives as young adults ready to leave care and live&nbsp;independently.Your Contributions:As a social worker in the team&nbsp;you will be responsible for care planning for children in care aged predominantly 16 and 17 years of age ensuring they are safe, happy and achieving their aspirations and goals.&nbsp;You will work closely with our partner agencies to deliver high quality care and&nbsp;support to our children and young people.The team works closely alongside the care leaving service with the Personal Advisors,&nbsp;Independent reviewing managers and outreach workers.The team specialises in conducting brief enquiries and age assessments where necessary for those children seeking asylum and age assessment training so experience within this area is desirable not essential, as age assessment training is provided to all social workers within the team.The team focus on those older adolescent children who need specific&nbsp;support in preparing them for independence when they turn 18 years of age and transfer from a Social Worker to a Personal Advisor.Young people transfer from frontline teams at the point of a permanency plan being&nbsp;agreed&nbsp;either within court or via section 20 Southwark judgement for homeless 16/17 year olds alongside unaccompanied asylum seeking children and transferring from within the service from the Children in Care wider team already with a plan of permanency.For the Advanced Social Worker position, we are seeking a candidate who can clearly demonstrate the experience, skills, and professional capabilities required of an Advanced Practitioner.
