If you are passionate about preventing homelessness, this is your chance to manage a dynamic and creative team that is determined to enable people to stay in their own homes.
The Housing Options Team helps residents to keep their homes and to find a new one where this isn’t possible. It also manages temporary homes for residents without one and provides housing advice to help people to find and keep the right home for them.
Your emphasis will be on empowering, motivating and supporting your team to ensure that the focus is on customers and to develop and sustain high performance as well as high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services.
You will need:
- experience of working well as part of a team in a housing options service dealing with homelessness;
- experience of taking homeless applications, making enquiries and providing decision letters;
- experience of exploring and implementing housing options to prevent homelessness; and
- to be a Chartered Institute of Housing Certified Practitioner (CertCIH) and/or educated to HNC level in Housing/Social Policy and/or suitable relevant experience.
In this role there will be the need for occasional travel, mainly within the local area for which you will receive a casual car user allowance if you use your own transport. Please see the job description and person specification for full details.
