The Role:
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity to join our team as an Events Manager for fixed term contract from 1 June 2025 to 30 January 2026. We are dedicated to creating memorable winter experiences for our community, and we need a talented manager to ensure our planning and event operation runs safely and efficiently.
The site comprises of an ice rink, food stalls, a licenced bar and a cafe. There are regular events on site including music nights and character skates for the children. It is open from 10.00 to 21.00 daily (closed Christmas Day). The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall running of the event on a day to day basis in conjunction with the Operations Manager, ensuring a safe and secure environment for both colleagues and guests.
About you:
You will be a natural leader, highly motivated with an outstanding passion for delivering first class customer service.
You will be enthusiastic, practical, able to work in a fast-past environment and have at least 2 years' work experience within the leisure industry at management level.
You will have knowledge and experience of organising and building an event and an understanding of the health and safety regulations and risk assessments required including CDM.
You will have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Knowledge of ice rink equipment and maintenance is desirable
