About the role
Are you an experienced and strong leader with a passion for social care? Are you committed to ensuring older people can live well, with care and support designed around their needs and aspirations?
We are seeking someone to lead Older Peoples Commissioning for Adult Social Care in East Sussex. The ideal candidate will support our aim to commission services and support which meet the needs of our local adult population and deliver the outcomes that matter most to them.
We are seeking someone who is able to lead the development of care and support alongside people with lived experience, recognising the improved quality, relevance and efficacy of services where the voice of local people has been central to the design and commissioning process.
As Head of Older Peoples Commissioning, you will:
- Be the lead strategic interface with the independent sector market for the delivery of improved outcomes for individuals, including models of service design, service delivery and capacity building, with specific responsibility for Older Peoples Residential and Nursing Care, Home Care, Extra Care, Older Peoples Day Opportunities.
- Have good, up-to-date knowledge of the local adult social care market, be able to innovate and lead market development and sustainability.
- Be responsible for ensuring the Local Authority meets its duties under section 5 of the Care Act 2014 in respect of Older Peoples care and support services.
- Lead collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders, providers, individuals drawing on care and support, carers, and families.

There will be a requirement to prepare and deliver a presentation as part of the interview process. The question / presentation brief will be provided on the day, with time allowed to prepare. A peer panel interview and an interview with members of the departmental management team will also take place on the day.
