About the role
Do you have a passion for safeguarding and want to make a real difference in children’s lives? Join our small but dedicated team, where your expertise will help protect children and support safer practice across East Sussex.
As Assistant LADO, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding children by supporting the management of allegations against professionals and volunteers in the children’s workforce. Working alongside a small, committed team, you’ll handle high-risk referrals, offer expert advice to partner agencies, and help deliver training and service development.
This is a dynamic and rewarding role where your skills and judgement will directly contribute to protecting children and promoting safer working practices. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Analytical skills: Ability to effectively analyse information and make informed decisions.
- Understanding of safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding children within a variety of settings.
- Communication skills: Communication abilities, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Resilience and confidence: Demonstrated resilience and confidence in handling challenging situations.
- Quick thinking and autonomy: Ability to think on their feet, adapt to changing circumstances, and work independently.

We will look to hold interviews in the week commencing 2nd June 2025. Interviews will be in person and will involve an interview and a prioritisation task.
This is a part-time (25hrs p/w) role that is funded until end of March 2026.
