About the role
Do you have a talent for crafting engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences? If you are passionate about making a difference to how people travel across the South East, this could be the perfect role for you!
Transport for the South East is the sub-national transport body (STB) for the South East of England. Our Partnership brings together 16 local authorities, 46 district and borough authorities and a wider range of stakeholders from the worlds of transport, business and the environment.
As Transport for the South East's new Public Relations and Communications Assistant, you'll play a vital role in raising the profile of Transport for the South East with residents, businesses, and other key stakeholders across the region. You'll craft compelling content for various publications, manage social media platforms, produce podcasts, and help plan engaging events. Working closely with the Communications and Public Affairs Manager, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and take on increasing responsibilities in a dynamic and supportive environment.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have written communication skills and can tailor content for different audiences and channels
- Are experienced in managing social media platforms and website content
- Can plan and organise a varied workload, working effectively to short deadlines
- Have audio/video editing skills and experience creating diverse communications materials
- Can build positive working relationships across departments and organisations
Our team works flexibly, including a hybrid mix of working from home and from the office in Lewes, with travel to London or other areas of the South East as required.
To apply for this role, please follow the 'Apply Now' button above. Please submit a CV and cover letter of no more than two sides in length, setting out how your knowledge skills and experience meet the requirements of the role as set out in the job description.
Interviews will take place in person at County Hall in Lewes on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th May. If you have any questions about the role or need reasonable adjustments during the application process, please contact us.
This role offers genuine development opportunities in a growing organisation. You'll be at the heart of shaping transport policy across the South East, working on projects that will have a real impact on how people live and travel in our region for years to come.
We offer a diverse range of benefits to help and support you during your employment. More information can be found on our benefits page.
