About the role
Are you passionate about improving services for children and young people?
As our Audit and Information Governance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting Children’s Social Care and the East Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership. Your responsibilities will include providing data protection advice and guidance for Children's Services and conducting case file audits. You’ll be working with multi-agency stakeholders to support best practices in safeguarding children.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance on Data Protection including overseeing and working on the completion of subject access requests
- Supporting data-sharing improvements within the department
- Developing audit tools and overseeing the implementation of policies and best practices
- Undertaking research, policy development, and project work as required
- For the audit work, you will select, prepare, and share safeguarding files for audit purposes; and
- Write reports and monitor action plans, including multi-agency initiatives
We want to hear from you, if you’re a detail-focused, organised professional who thrives in dynamic settings. You’ll have strong interpersonal and IT skills, coupled with knowledge of data protection and safeguarding, whilst offering excellent service to both our external and internal customers!

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
