We are looking for a suitably experienced procurement officer who is well organised, flexible and self-motivated to contribute towards the delivery of an excellent procurement service based on best practice.
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for supporting all teams across the Council to procure goods, services and works in accordance with legislation and Council's regulations.
This is a key role in maintaining and developing best procurement practices and should be able to work proactively to identify suitable suppliers, opportunities and emerging market opportunities.
This role requires someone that can support procurement projects, provide procurement advice, prepare tender documentation and will be responsible for the Council's e-tendering system.
This post will support and undertake procurement training within the Council to improve procurement practices.
This post is part of a small team that covers a wide range of corporate functions and will work closely with the Contract Manager.
The ideal candidate must have a background in procurement and either have or be working towards a procurement qualification.
This is a full time position but we will consider alternative options such as flexible working.
