St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas. Set within green belt, off the M25, A1M and M1 the District includes a cathedral, historic city centre and charming villages. Our refurbished offices are in the city centre near to the station (London St Pancras 20 minutes), shops and restaurants. In short it is a great place to live and work.
Working closely with elected Councillors, you will support the Council’s democratic decision making process through the effective administration of Council and committee business, attending Council meetings, producing agendas, reports and minutes for a range of committees and Councillor working groups.
You will work on a range of projects with members of the Scrutiny Committees in their statutory role in holding the Council’s Executive to account. You will provide policy research, analysis and advice to Councillors in reviewing policies and proposing options for improvement in the way services are delivered to local residents.
Educated to degree standard or equivalent, you must be an excellent communicator with both verbal and written skills, and be computer literate with the ability to manage and adapt to changing workloads.
