Big changes. No excuses. That’s what we’re delivering at Wirral Council. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.

It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are an employer who supports, who is flexible but who demands the very best.

In this role you’ll maintain and operate a system to track and monitor the achievements, attainment and progress of looked after children which is used to inform Personal Education Planning.  You will ensure that all looked after children have a robust and effective Personal Education Plan and access to appropriate educational support, including personal tuition, where needed.  You will champion the educational needs of looked after children across the authority and those placed out-of-authority.

We are looking for someone who can challenge schools to complete effective plans for children in care and make appropriate use of Pupil Premium Plus grant.  You’ll need to have experience working in educational settings.

Your experience should include a good understanding of how to set appropriate targets for children which are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound.  You will need a track record of successful working with schools and settings to drive accelerated learning for children and young people.

Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our employees/residents/customers to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.

This post is subject to Enhanced Level DBS check.

Interviews are planned for Wednesday 11th September 2019.

No holding back. No excuses. Just change Wirral.
