We are looking for two cooks to join our multi-disciplinary Children’s Centres to purchase prepare, cook and serve meals, ensuring that all meals are nutritionally balanced and take account of all ethnic, religious and dietary needs of clients and staff. The post holders will ensure that hygiene standards and safe practices are maintained at all times, including cleaning fridges freezers and cookers; washing large pots, cleaning work surfaces, ensuring that instructions for freezing food are followed; washing floors, shelves, walls, work surfaces. The successful candidates will be responsible for monitoring budgets including accounting for any monies spent as required.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
It is essential the successful candidate hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate as well as previous demonstrable experience in preparing and cooking meals for children which reflects the multi-ethnic community. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated and assist with the day to day supervision of Kitchen Staff. You will have the ability to priorities you workload whilst adhering to strict budgets and catering deadlines. You will provide the highest standard of food hygiene across all elements of the center include cleaning, cooking, chilling and cross contamination.
