Job Title: LDD Personal Adviser
Location: Based in Stevenage - working in North & East of Hertfordshire
Salary Range: £24,799 - £29,636 pa
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of developments in guidance and transition work for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD) and a great opportunity to contribute to positive changes in young people’s lives.
YC Hertfordshire LDD Team provides a range of specialist services for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities which continues to develop. This involves providing careers information, advice and guidance to young people (14-25) and their parents through statutory and traded delivery work with schools and colleges; development of Preparing for Adulthood transition plans in line with legislation and delivery of Personal Adviser support for young people with learning disabilities who are Leaving Care.
You will use person centred guidance approaches with young people enabling them to make informed decisions and have a clear plan outlining their needs and expected outcomes. You will provide and co-ordinate assessments to support their engagement in education, training, work opportunities and positive activities.
It is desirable that you have a Level 6 qualification in Career Guidance and Development or equivalent Career Guidance qualification, or are willing to undertake the qualification and experience in working with young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills with young people, parents and professionals.
You will need to be able to travel independently around the county so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
