About the job
The advertised salary will be pro-rata. As a Schools Finance Officer you will be a member of a team providing localauthority maintained schools with financial support, advice and guidance.You will be allocated a portfolio of schools and, through visits to schools andtelephone support, will support School Finance Officers, Headteachers and Governorswith budget setting, budget monitoring, accounting procedures, cash-flow monitoringand the monitoring of financial management arrangements. You will also be requiredto provide operational support to schools on the use of their accounting and budgetingsoftware.
About the person
You will have significant finance experience working in a school, local authority finance department or educational establishment setting with good technical knowledge of an accounting system (preferably SIMS FMS).
You will have an ability to demonstrate an understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyse and present clear financial information.
A good working knowledge of excel and the skill to use formulas to perform the calculation of data is also essential.
