The Youth and Citizenship team is looking for an organised and motivated individual to work with young people aged 13 – 19 years on the Harlow Youth Council project.
You will be working with 24 youth councillors, assisting to co-ordinate their weekly tasks and activities.
• Helping to organise the annual Hustings day and youth council elections in schools and youth organisations throughout Harlow
• Attend monthly full council meetings, weekly sub group meetings and working in partnership with other youth groups
• Source training for the young people.
Candidates must have the ability to motivate and organise young people, therefore experience of working with youths in a range of youth work settings and an awareness of the issues that they face in today’s society is essential for this role.
You must be able to communicate effectively, have excellent interpersonal and IT skills. A certificate or diploma in youth/community is desirable as is an understanding of youth policy and legislation.
The Youth Council Co-ordinator will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Disclosure Barring Service check and a formal offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.
