£23,951 per annum for working 36 hours per week based at Applewood Residential Home in Tadworth.

Applewood forms an essential part Surrey County Council's provision for disabled children, young people and their families. It receives positive feedback from families and professionals and is rated "Good" by Ofsted under the Children Homes regulations.
Applewood provides overnight short breaks to children and young people with a range of disabilities. During their short breaks Applewood offers the children and young people an exciting, safe and fun environment in which they learn new skills such as shopping and food preparation, as well as social and communication skills which are developed by accessing leisure activities within the community.

The key function of the role is to work directly with children and young people. It requires a child centred approach and may involve supporting young people with their personal and intimate care.
This is a challenging and varied role requiring excellent communication skills and a desire to work in partnership with families and a range of professionals.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and personal statement will clearly evidence:
- Experience of working with disabled children and young people.
- A level 3 diploma in child care (NVQ3) or equivalent is highly desirable for this role.
- An understanding of the social model of disability including and the importance of inclusion and working with diversity.
- Knowledge and understanding of disability
- An understanding of relevant legislation to keep children safe
- An understanding of partnership working with families and professionals.
