Are you a Senior Practitioner ready for a new challenge? Can you see yourself promoting and being part of a new service?
As we seek to improve the service we provide to Children and families in Thurrock, we have decided to introduce the Families Together Team.
We are recruiting Social Work Practitioners to be part of the new Families Together Service in Thurrock. This service will provide high intensity and a rapid response to a small number of children and families in crisis. By creating this specialised team, it will enable us to address and overcome the difficulties that have led to the family being at risk of breakdown, and prevent further escalation.
It will also provide support to limit the risks of children being removed from their homes, to address complex, multiple needs across a family unit, or to support the re-unification of families post care order, or Section 20 accommodation.
As the ideal Social Worker, you will:
- Have experience in direct work with complex and hard to reach families.
- Have first-rate engaging skills with young people and families in crisis
- Have specialised experience and knowledge of working with specific hard to reach groups, including those affected by domestic abuse, criminal exploitation, anti-social behaviours, child sexual exploitation, gang affiliation, drug and alcohol misuse, and school exclusion or truanting.
- Be a Qualified Social Worker with at least 1 year post qualifying experience and registered with the HCPC.
*The Market Supplement payment is applicable after 6 months service and subject to performance and continued corporate approval.
In return we offer a competitive salary and benefits including:
- Generous annual leave entitlement - 25 days rising to 30 after 5 years' service
- Flexible working to enable work life balance
- Reflective supervision and management support
- Excellent training opportunities and an established CPD programme
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required at an Enhanced Level.
